Congratulation to CBNS member Hayley Schultz who has been awarded the UniSA Research Degree Excellence Grant, an inaugural grant fully funded by those who donated generously throughout UniSA’s 25th birthday in 2016.
The grant was awarded to Hayley for academic excellence and the importance of her research and its contribution to society. Hayley is in her third year of her PhD and is supervised by CBNS CI Professor Clive Prestidge. Her research focus is on developing innovative lipid-based nano formulations for improving the oral delivery of poorly water-soluble drugs, including those for prostate cancer. The grant, worth $10,000, will be used to fund two international trips in 2018.
Her first trip will be to the US in July, to present at the Controlled Release Society annual meeting in New York, to visit and share her research with Professor Michael Hageman and his research group at the University of Kansas, and to visit ‘big pharma’ companies such as Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Her second trip will be to Singapore in September, to present her research at the Controlled Release Asia conference and the Globalization of Pharmaceutics Education Network student conference. Hayley would like to thank the donors who made these opportunities possible.
Again, congratulations for winning such a significant grant!
