Grants and Awards | May 24, 2018

Congratulations to Helen Forgham for being awarded the Kids Cancer Alliance PhD top-up scholarship.

“I was privileged to be awarded the PhDtop-up scholarship for my work investigating the use of STAR nanoparticles to deliver gene-silencing siRNA to treat childhood brain cancer medulloblastoma.”, Helen says. Throughout her PhD, she will be focussing on all aspects of siRNA delivery and looking for the first time at using a nebuliser to deliver STAR nanoparticle/siRNA complexes intra nasally as a more targeted, safe and potent therapeutic strategy for medulloblastoma.

The Kids Cancer Alliance is a Cancer Institute NSW translational cancer research centre dedicated to funding the clinical translation of basic research into childhood cancer. They provide highly competitive PhDs and top-up awards for PhD scholars.
