Christian originally comes from Villach, Austria and joined the CBNS in 2017 as a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Dr Simon Corrie. He also works in the group of Prof Ross Barnard at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) at UQ.
His work focuses on the development and characterisation of antibody fragments that are sought to target important biomarkers in a variety of diagnostic and prognostic applications. Using a combination of biochemical and biophysical techniques, these biosensors might eventually enable reagentless and continuous monitoring of analyte concentrations in vivo.
Christian graduated from the University of Graz and did his PhD in Structural Biology at the Institute for Molecular Biosciences (IMB) in Graz, Austria.
