Dr Katharina Richter


Dr Katharina Richter works in the lab of Professor Clive Prestidge and Dr Nicky Thomas at the University of South Australia. Born in Sonneberg, Germany and educated at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, she gained research and work experience at the University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand), in Switzerland (emergency pharmacy, Zurich) and Denmark (Copenhagen University). Before she joined CBNS she gained her PhD at the University of Adelaide and worked for the Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research.

Her main area of research are bio-nano interactions of drug delivery systems and bacterial biofilms. She focuses on the translation of novel antibacterial treatments into clinical applications – the interface of pharmaceutical sciences, microbiology and translational health research.
