Biography

Dr Marnie Winter is working as part of Benjamin Thierry’s (Bionanoengineering) group at the Future Industries Institute, University of South Australia, where she completed her PhD. Currently, she is working on developing new isolation and characterisation approaches for the detection of rare cells, specifically fetal cells from a pregnant woman’s blood towards a non-invasive prenatal genetic test and also circulating tumour cells from cancer patient blood. The aim of this work is to validate new technologies to improve clinical diagnosis and prognosis for expectant parents and cancer patients.
