Tahlia is currently a PhD student working under the supervision of Professor Clive Prestidge at the University of South Australia. She has previously completed a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Research (Honours). Her research focuses on improving the oral delivery of poorly water-soluble antipsychotic drugs by exploring the synergistic effects of drug nanocrystals, lipid-based drug delivery systems and nanostructured carrier materials. By taking advantage of technologies which have the ability to mimic the pharmaceutical food effect, dissolution and solubilisation of psychotropic drugs in the gastrointestinal tract can be enhanced. Such formulation will provide easier dosing allowing for more effective treatment.
