Biography

Nigel is a professor in drug discovery biology and his laboratory investigates the mechanisms of inflammation and pain, which underlie diseases of global relevance.

His research interest is to define the molecular, cellular and pathophysiological functions of G-protein coupled receptors and transient receptor potential ion channels, two major classes of cell-surface proteins that are essential for signalling inflammation and pain.

Nigel has now accepted an appointment at the New York University in the USA, but still retains his connection with the CBNS.
